BadgePilot: Product Badges · Last updated November 2, 2026
BadgePilot: Product Badges ("BadgePilot", "we") is a Shopify app made by Cygen Tech. It adds product badges to Shopify stores. This policy explains what information BadgePilot handles when a merchant installs it, why, and how it is deleted.
Information we collect
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your store's Shopify domain and the access token Shopify issues to the app | To connect to your store. Tokens are encrypted before they are stored. |
| Your badge settings: badge text, colors, positions, schedules and the product or collection IDs you choose | To show the badges you set up. |
| Your BadgePilot plan (Free or Pro) and trial dates, read from Shopify | To unlock the features of your plan. |
| A history of changes made in the app (for example "badge turned off") | To show recent activity and help with support. |
BadgePilot reads product information (such as prices, compare-at prices, publish dates and stock levels) and your automatic discounts from Shopify to decide which badges to show. It does not keep copies of your product catalog.
Customer information
BadgePilot does not collect, store or process personal information about your customers. It does not access orders or customer records, and the storefront script does not set cookies or track shoppers. To load badges faster, it may keep public product data (the same data your store already shows) in the shopper's browser session for a few minutes.
How information is used and shared
- Information is used only to provide and support BadgePilot. We do not sell it or use it for advertising.
- Data is stored with Google Cloud (Cloud Run and Cloud Firestore) in the United States. Billing is handled by Shopify; we never see payment details.
- We may disclose information if required by law.
Retention and deletion
- When you uninstall BadgePilot, its access to your store ends immediately and stored tokens are deleted.
- Your badge settings are kept for 48 hours so a reinstall restores them. After that, Shopify asks us to erase your store's data and we permanently delete everything BadgePilot holds about your store.
- You can ask us to delete your data sooner by contacting us.
Your rights
Depending on where you are, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your information. Contact us and we will respond within 30 days. Requests made through Shopify for your customers' data are answered automatically, because BadgePilot holds none.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
